Huntsville Police remind residents to secure vehicles and valuables

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Huntsville Police are encouraging residents to take simple precautions after noticing an uptick in car break-ins and stolen items.

HPD said from January through June 2025, there were 435 reported car break-ins, compared to 385 during the same period in 2024. Between April and June, 46 firearms were reported stolen from vehicles. Reports also show Mondays have been the most common day for incidents this year.
