Alabama A&M is first in state to introduce three mathematics pathways

NORMAL — Alabama A&M University is the first institution in Alabama to offer three distinct mathematics pathways designed to better serve students’ diverse academic interests and career trajectories.

Starting this fall, the new pathways – STEM Mathematics, Big Data Mathematics, and Life Mathematics – aim to provide tailored, relevant, and accessible routes to mathematical proficiency and career readiness.

“These pathways represent a transformative step in how we prepare students for both their academic journeys and future careers,” said Dr. Tau Kadhi, associate vice president for academic administration and dean of graduate studies. “By aligning mathematics education with student goals and workforce needs, AAMU is ensuring that every student has the tools to succeed.”…
