River to Gap project: 64 acres on Green Mountain donated for permanent conservation

HUNTSVILLE — An initiative to create a conservation corridor from the Tennessee River to Huntsville’s Blevins Gap on Green Mountain received a considerable land donation, the Land Trust of North Alabama announced.

The Land Trust said it recently closed on a 63.79-acre property on Green Mountain,  donated by the Kuehlthau family, that will now be permanently protected.

The property is a major contribution to The River to Gap project, a long-term Land Trust initiative for a natural corridor stretching from the banks of the Tennessee River to the ridgeline of Blevins Gap on Green Mountain, the organization said…
