City of Huntsville moves forward with safety enhancements on Holmes Avenue

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The City of Huntsville is moving forward with additional improvements and safety enhancements that will cover a 3.25-mile stretch along Holmes Ave. between downtown and UAH.

The Huntsville City Council recently approved for Mayor Tommy Battle to sign a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant.

The City won a competitive $21.6 million USDOT grant last year to create a multimodal transportation network through the busy Holmes Avenue corridor…
