Court of Criminal Appeals upholds McDade murder and assault convictions in Madison County

MONTGOMERY — The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the convictions of Michael McDade of Huntsville for murder and assault in the second degree, Attorney General Steve Marshall announced today.

McDade, 27, was convicted in Madison County Circuit Court on Jan. 16 for the murder of Quentavies Fletcher in 2021.

The evidence at trial showed that on Oct. 8, 2021, Lyndria Cooper got into a domestic dispute with Fletcher, her boyfriend, after a night of partying, Marshall’s office said in a news release. Police were called to the scene and spoke with Cooper and her family, including McDade, her brother…
