HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Police Chief Kirk Giles wants to be clear that the recent events involving current and former officers “do not reflect the standards or values of the Huntsville Police Department.”
Giles sent News 19 comments regarding the recent arrests of four current officers and one former officer over the last month. He said these matters are being addressed, and though the actions of these officers have caused concern in the community, they don’t define the whole department.
“Trust is not given – it is earned. It comes from consistent actions that reflect our mission: to serve and protect. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards, and you can count on us to serve Huntsville with honor,” Giles said…
