Fired, then reinstated officer takes new court action

PRICEVILLE, Ala. — A fired — then reinstated — member of the Priceville Police Department is taking the city to court over the disciplinary action against him.

The attorney for Garry Chapman filed a case Thursday in Morgan County seeking the reversal of a 10-day suspension that was enacted when the City Council voted to overturn Chapman’s dismissal. The appeal claims the Council’s decision was “in error, arbitrary and capricious, and not supported by the substantial legal evidence.”
