MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — The estate of a 17-year-old killed in a September crash following a police pursuit filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against the fleeing driver, the involved Priceville police officer, and the City of Priceville.
Rachel Moore, administrator of the estate of Tristan Hollis, filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of Morgan County. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from a jury for the Sept. 6, 2025, wreck that killed Tristan.
Tristan was a passenger in a 2019 Toyota RAV4 traveling north on U.S. Highway 31 when the vehicle was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Archie Hale. The complaint alleges Hale was being pursued westbound on AL Highway 36 by Priceville Police Officer Garry Chapman when Hale ran a red light at the intersection, striking the RAV4.
While Hale is accused of negligence and wantonness for driving too fast and failing to stop, the lawsuit also levies heavy allegations against Officer Chapman and the City of Priceville…
