Huntsville woman arrested after high-speed chase with 2 kids in SUV

PRICEVILLE, Ala. — A Huntsville woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly leading officers on a high-speed chase with two young children in her vehicle, according to court records filed in Morgan County.

Ebony Latrall Taylor, 28, faces felony charges of attempting to elude a police officer after authorities say she fled a traffic stop on Highway 67 near Indian Hills Road around 10:40 p.m. Officer Patrick Wiley said Taylor was driving a red Ford Escape at 74 mph in a 55-mph zone in rainy conditions and ignored attempts to stop her for reckless driving, improper lane usage and an obstructed windshield.

Police say Taylor continued north into Decatur, reaching speeds of 65 mph in a 40-mph zone while her 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son were inside the SUV. Decatur officers joined the pursuit, and Taylor eventually stopped at a residence. She tried to flee into the home, but was arrested…
