FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (WHNT) — The Fayetteville Police Department says there is no threat to the public at this time after a man claimed to have a bomb near the Lincoln County Jail.
FPD Administrative Commander Jesse Casias said FPD and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Thornton Taylor Highway and Highway 64 around 6:17 p.m. on a call from a man claiming he had a bomb strapped to his person.

FPD said officers arrived to find a man in what they described as “high distress,” but did not discover any bombs or explosives on his person or in the area.
