Traffic stop on Old Big Cove Rd leads to arrests over drug paraphernalia and warrants

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. — A traffic stop Saturday afternoon on Old Big Cove Road led to multiple arrests, including one on a felony drug warrant.

According to Owens Cross Roads police, Lt. Worsham saw an SUV traveling 66 mph in a 40 mph zone near Knotty Walls. The driver, whose license was revoked, was pulled over near South Green Mountain. Two passengers were also in the vehicle.

Officers noted the occupants appeared nervous. K9 Raven assisted in a probable cause search, alerting to the passenger side. Officers discovered a glass pipe with residue consistent with methamphetamine. The front passenger admitted ownership of the pipe and was cited for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor…
