Residents demand answers as behavioral facility faces legal action over runaway teens, safety concerns

OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. — The City of Owens Cross Roads is considering legal action against the Pathway of Madison County, a behavioral facility for teenage girls, following multiple incidents involving residents running away and disturbances inside the facility that have alarmed nearby residents.

City attorneys announced last week they are pursuing legal action against the facility after six girls recently fled and hid in a neighboring community. The announcement came during a city council meeting Tuesday where residents voiced concerns about safety and transparency.
