MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — The Madison Police Department is set to grow its aerial capabilities after receiving a $15,000 grant aimed at expanding its drone program, officials announced.
Norfolk Southern provided the grant to the police department, which says it will go toward purchasing new drone equipment and enhancing training for officers who operate the technology in emergency response situations.
Drones play a growing role in public safety operations, assisting officers with search and rescue efforts, accident investigations, and large-scale event monitoring.
