MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — FlashFiber is seeking the public’s assistance after a utility pole carrying fiber optic cables was intentionally destroyed in what officials are calling a dangerous act of vandalism.
On the evening of Nov. 16, a utility pole containing FlashFiber cables was deliberately cut down with a chainsaw along East Upper River Road, near the Cotaco Creek canoe launch area. The telecommunications company emphasized that this was not a random occurrence but a targeted act.
$2,000 REWARD
FlashFiber is offering a reward for information leading to the identification of the person responsible for this incident.
“This wasn’t a random incident. It was deliberate, and it is extremely dangerous,” a FlashFiber representative stated. “Actions like this put our crews, first responders, and the public at serious risk.”…
