Shoppers return to stores as Black Friday foot traffic rises slightly

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Retailers across the country welcomed a slight uptick in shoppers this Black Friday weekend, with both major chains and small businesses reporting steady customer flow as consumers increasingly balanced online convenience with in-person shopping experiences.

Passby.com reports foot traffic rose just over 1 percent from last year, totaling more than 53 million in-store visits nationwide on Black Friday. The report by James Ewen says the increase demonstrates shoppers are steadily returning to brick-and-mortar stores.
