Charges dropped against one of five men arrested in deadly 2021 Madison County event center shooting

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Prosecutors filed a motion on Monday to not move forward with murder and assault charges against a man arrested following a 2021 shooting that killed two women and injured nine others.

Trinton Bouldin was charged following the 2023 shooting at the Legacy Event Center. The shooting killed Kaitlyn Jenkins and Quantasia Grant, who were both 20 years old.

Prosecutors told News 19 it was a “difficult decision” to make the motion to dismiss, but they didn’t think they had enough evidence to make a conviction in the case.

Four other people were also charged with murder and assault following the shooting: Ashton Elliott, Damarcus Thompson, Tamarian Rice, and Ja’quan Lewis…
