Huntsville police officer denied bond on kidnapping, burglary charges

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A bond hearing on Tuesday revealed that a Huntsville police officer entered a home and held two people at gunpoint early on Thanksgiving Day.

Huntsville police officer Brandon O’Field, 41, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping and first-degree burglary on Nov. 27. A spokesperson for HPD said he was placed on leave from the department following the incident, pending investigation.

In an Aniah’s Law hearing on Tuesday, O’Field was denied bond. News 19 was the only local TV station in the courtroom on Tuesday.

Investigators testified that O’Field forced his way into a home on Keva Street in Meridianville early Thanksgiving morning, using what they believe was a police-issued breaching tool to defeat the locks…
