The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has added 11 new officers after the 73rd Academy Session graduation. The ceremony took place at the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering. The recruits completed 19 weeks of training. Family members, city officials, and HPD Command Staff attended the event. The new officers are Jacob Adams, Brett Driggers, Cecil Flanigan, David Kim, Edgar Montoya, Mark Moore, Justin Pratt, Noah Reed, Jabraun Rice, Jon Turis, and Alexander Volesky.
HPD Chief Kirk Giles spoke at the ceremony. He noted the importance of responsibility and earning respect as a police officer. Mayor Tommy Battle also addressed the graduates. He spoke about the trust residents place in the police and linked low crime rates to the department’s work…
