Man airlifted to hospital with burns after truck fire in Meridianville

MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A construction worker was airlifted to UAB Hospital with burns after a truck fire.

HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster told WAFF 48 that HEMSI crews assessed a burn victim at a construction site on Slade Thomas Drive in Meridianville just before noon on Thursday.

Webster says a pickup truck caught fire at the site, leaving one man with burns. He says after assessing the victim’s burns, they decided it was serious enough to fly him to UAB Hospital.

When the victim was carried on a stretcher onto the helicopter, he appeared to be conscious…
