HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — With the Rocket City Marathon getting underway on Sunday, you can expect a few road closures around downtown Huntsville.
According to the Huntsville Police Department, closures will begin at 5 a.m. and stay in place for the duration of the marathon. HPD said I-565 at the Jefferson Street exit and Clinton Avenue at Memorial Parkway will both be blocked off.
Additional roadways along the route will either be temporarily closed as runners pass or have reduced lanes of travel. The marathon is set to end at 1 p.m. and HPD said all roadways should be reopened by 2 p.m…
