Huntsville City Council approves annexing nearly 700 acres

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville City Council approved the annexation of nearly 700 acres of land on Thursday.

“This action came forward by the property owners as they’ve owned it and wanted to petition into the City of Huntsville, to see some development in the future,” said Thomas Nunez, the manager of planning and zoning services.

The council voted unanimously to annex 686.46 acres of land south of Martin Road and east of Electronics Boulevard.
