ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) – A quick-thinking Athens man helped rescue a driver after his truck slid off the road and plunged into Lucy’s Branch on the evening of December 1.
Jarred Miller told WAFF 48 he was helping his wife at a nearby business event around 6 p.m. when he and a customer heard the screech of tires and saw headlights disappear into Lucy’s Branch canal.
They ran to the canal and found a man yelling for help as he tried to climb up a steep, 15-foot embankment…
