HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A United States District Judge set a date for a jury trial in the wrongful death lawsuit against a former police officer who killed a Huntsville man in his home in 2018 while on duty.
Former Huntsville Police Officer William Ben Darby is being sued by the family of Jeffrey Parker for wrongful death and excessive force claims. The family is also suing the City of Huntsville.
Darby was facing a murder charge for Parker’s death, but just weeks before his new trial was set to begin, he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter…
