HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Huntsville Police Department’s DUI Task Force will carry out safety checkpoints on New Year’s Eve.
The effort is dedicated to the memory of two people, Hannah Parton and a second woman whose name police withheld out of respect for her family. The two women lost their lives in a crash caused by an impaired driver in 2021.
“Impaired driving is preventable, and the choices we make matter,” Huntsville Police Sgt. Antonio Shorter said. “This checkpoint honors lives lost and serves as a reminder that one decision behind the wheel can change lives forever.”
