HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Crestwood Medical Center said it welcomed its first baby of 2026 just after midnight on January 1.
The hospital said baby Kathryn, whose parents plan to call Kit. was born at 12:03 Thursday morning, just minutes after everyone in the Tennessee Valley rang in the New Year.

Crestwood said little Kit weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and is already bringing joy to her parents, Lindsay and Spencer, and her big sister Charlotte.
As an added bit of celebration Kit’s mom, Lindsay, also works as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Crestwood. The hospital said being able to help their coworker through her own delivery was especially meaningful for the hospital team and the new parents…
