HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Dozens of volunteers gathered Saturday afternoon in Huntsville to prepare backpacks filled with necessities for people experiencing homelessness, working together before a community giveaway aimed at meeting immediate needs.
The event, hosted at The Livin’ Room, brought together volunteers of all ages who packed items such as toothpaste, water bottles and snacks into backpacks. About 100 backpacks were prepared to be distributed to members of the local homeless community.
