LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Limestone County family received a call they had been waiting months for on Monday.
Ruger Ennis has dealt with medical issues his entire life and needed a kidney transplant after he was diagnosed with kidney failure last spring.
On Monday, his family received a call from UAB Hospital that a kidney was ready for Ruger and he immediately underwent transplant surgery. His mom, Haley Schrimsher, said that he will be in recovery for several weeks, but he was able to sit up and give a thumbs-up on Wednesday.
