Huntsville looks to add another 650 acres, including land for new school

Huntsville’s city limits are expected to expand by another 650 acres next week.

The Huntsville City Council will vote on two annexations at its meeting on Jan. 22, the largest of which is just off Interstate 565 in Limestone County.

That property, 648.44 acres, is on the south side of I-565 and east and west of Swancott Road. It is near the massive Greenbrier Preserve, where more than 1,100 are planned and hundreds are already under construction…
