ATHENS, Ala. — Chocolate lovers and shoppers can satisfy their sweet tooth and explore downtown Athens during the 13th annual Chocolate Walk on Feb. 7, Athens Main Street announced. The self-guided event runs from noon to 5 p.m. and begins at the Athens Main Street office, 107 N. Jefferson St., where participants will pick up tickets, a map, and a bag for collecting treats.
Only 350 tickets will be available, and organizers warn they may sell out quickly. Last year, tickets sold out within five minutes of release. Tickets, priced at $10 each plus a processing fee, will be sold online through Eventbrite on three separate days: Jan. 22 at noon, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., and Jan. 24 at 9 a.m. Buyers are limited to five tickets per purchase.
Participants who make purchases at participating businesses or restaurants will have a chance to win $500 in “Love Bucks,” redeemable at downtown businesses…
