MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — Madison County residents interested in getting an inside look at local law enforcement can now apply for the 2026 Citizen’s Sheriff Academy, a 11-week program designed to give the public a hands-on understanding of how the Sheriff’s Office operates.
Sheriff Kevin Turner said the academy is about building trust and understanding between deputies and the people they serve.
“Our Citizens Academy is important to me because it allows us to sit down with the people we serve and have honest conversations about law enforcement,” Turner said. “I invite anyone who wants to better understand our mission and the work we do every day, and how being informed and involved strengthens the safety of our community, to take part in this program.”…
