Chattanooga, Tennessee – A developing winter weather setup could bring snow and freezing rain to communities along the Tennessee–Alabama border late this week, as colder air pushes south and temperatures fall to near 20 degrees overnight. The combination of cold air and periods of precipitation raises concerns for slick roads and hazardous travel through early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, an arctic air mass will move into the region beginning late Friday, with the coldest conditions expected Saturday through Tuesday.
