(WHNT) — The National Weather Service has issued an Areal Flood Warning for several counties in the Tennessee Valley until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The warning includes Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan counties in Alabama and Franklin, Lincoln and Moore counties in southern middle Tennessee.
One to three inches of rain fell on Sunday, leading to rising creeks, streams, and rivers. Ponding of water on roads has also occurred.
In addition, a Flood Warning has been issued for the Flint River at Brownsboro and Paint Rock River at Woodville. The Flint River is expected to rise above flood stage Sunday evening with a crest of 18.5 feet by Monday morning.
