HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Multiple crashes and icy roads have been reported on major roads across the Tennessee Valley.
Huntsville Police have closed all Memorial Parkway overpasses (northbound and southbound) due to icy conditions. These bridges are slick and dangerous. Authorities are asking people to use alternate routes.

Madison County
- U.S. 72 (Westbound lanes near the 108-mile marker): Open
- I-565 Eastbound & Westbound: Closed
- Green Mountain Road: Closed
- Bankhead Parkway: Closed
- Memorial Parkway Overpasses: Closed
- Chapman Mountain (Highway 72 just past Moores Mill Road): Closed
- Greenbrier Road: Closed
- Oakwood Avenue (from Oakwood Road to Orba Road): Closed
- Capshaw Road: Closed
Morgan County
- Iced roadways reported on the northbound and southbound lanes on U.S. 231 near the 301-mile marker are closed
- Hwy 231 on Brindlee Mtn: Closed
- Hwy. 31 (Hartselle Mountain between Flint and Hartselle): Extremely Slick
- I-65 Northbound south of Falkville: Right Lane Closed
Lauderdale County
- All roads are now covered in ice, and sleet continues to fall. Travel should be limited; conditions will not improve throughout the day as temperatures remain at or near 20 degrees.
- Reports of sleet and freezing rain on Alabama 101, Alabama 64, and U.S. 72.
Lawrence County
- Reports of ice and snow on state and federal roadways. Ice and snow are continuing to fall.
Colbert County
- Alabama Law Enforcement Agency: All county roads and bridges are impassable.
- Reports of county roads with heavy accumulation and are slick.
Franklin County
- Reports of state and federal roadways covered with ice and snow and are slick.
