City of Huntsville awards more than $322,000 in grants to nine nonprofit organizations

The City of Huntsville has approved more than $322,000 in federal grant funding for nine nonprofit organizations to support programs serving low- to moderate-income residents across the city.

The City’s Community Development Department will distribute $322,800 in Community Development Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to organizations that provide housing assistance, healthcare, workforce training and other essential services.

“CDBG funding allows us to invest directly in the organizations that are making a difference in our community every day,” said Community Development Manager Scott Erwin. “These partners help ensure Huntsville residents have access to safe housing, essential healthcare, job training and supportive services that improve quality of life and strengthen our neighborhoods.”…
