Huntsville bluesman “Microwave” Dave Gallaher’s music touched listeners far beyond Alabama — including Stephen King.
On Saturday, after news of the beloved and talented Gallaher’s death at age 79, King took to social media to remember Gallaher. On his Bluesky account, King — known for his classic novels turned into hit movies, like “Stand By Me,” “Misery” and “The Running Man” — wrote: “Microwave Dave has joined the big band upstairs — playin’ that slide guitar!”
