Judge sets trial date for North Huntsville bar closure case

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A Madison County judge has set a May 26 trial date to determine whether 708 Bar and Grille will reopen or remain closed after the city filed a public nuisance lawsuit.

Judge Ruth Ann Hall issued a stern two-page order that largely focused on bar owner Malcolm Gopher’s conduct in the case.

Hall wrote that Gopher’s previous motion filings, despite having an attorney, could constitute practicing law without a license, which would be a criminal offense…
