Huntsville skybridge: $20 million Pinhook Creek project moves city one step closer

The Huntsville City Council approved a $20 million contract on Thursday for the first phase of the Pinhook Creek-Pedestrian Access and Redevelopment Corridor project that includes the suspension pedestrian bridge known as Skybridge in a later phase.

Lambert Contracting, LLC, is the low bidder for the Pinhook Creek-PARC project contract. City Urban and Economic Development Director Shane Davis said the approval paves the way for construction of the first phase of the work, which started years ago as an Army Corps of Engineers project.

The first phase includes 3,200 linear feet of Pinhook Creek channel widening from Holmes Avenue to US 231, approximately 100,000 cubic yards of excavation and approximately 90,000 square feet of mechanically stabilized earth wall…
