The Hartselle Police Department welcomed a new officer and honored a veteran officer during the Feb. 10 city council meeting, which also included the announcement of a $300,000 grant for updated communications equipment.
School Resource Officer Zeke Eubanks was voted Police Officer of the Year by his colleagues. Chief Alan McDearmond praised Eubanks for his work at Hartselle High School.
“Officer (Zeke) Eubanks here is our school resource officer at the high school, and when Lt. Porter became the lieutenant over that division, he said that Zeke helped him a lot understanding the school system because he had never served as an SRO…Porter just raved about what a good job he did,” McDearmond said…
