HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A Huntsville man is facing multiple charges after striking two patrol vehicles while leading officers on a chase Friday night.
Huntsville Police say that just before 10 p.m. on February 13, an officer observed a vehicle driving erratically, crossing the roadway, and traveling through a yard. The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over near Holmes Avenue and Appleby Street.
Police reported that the driver, identified as Sulayman Basim Akbar, 69, of Huntsville, refused to stop, sparking a pursuit during which he struck two marked HPD patrol vehicles while attempting to evade officers. Huntsville Police confirmed no officers were injured in the incidents…
