‘I lost 12 years of hard work’: Fayetteville designer refuses to quit after devastating Downtown fire

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. — One week ago, the historic heart of Fayetteville was forever changed. In a matter of hours, a devastating blaze tore through the downtown district, reducing four century-old structures to ash and leaving a literal hole in the city’s skyline.

While investigators still haven’t determined the cause of the fire, the true toll is being measured in more than just brick and mortar. Five local businesses were completely destroyed, their inventories and histories buried under piles of debris.

For international fashion designer Juan Guerrero, the loss is deeply personal. Guerrero has spent over a decade showcasing his work on premier runways in New York, Mexico City, and Paris. But despite his global reach, his heart—and his studio—remained in downtown Fayetteville…
