Authorities seize 2.2 pounds of cocaine after Huntsville pursuit

A Huntsville drug trafficking chase arrest has led to drug trafficking charges after authorities say a Meridianville man fled law enforcement and was later found with cocaine and fentanyl.

The incident began around 5 p.m. Saturday when agents with the North Alabama Drug Task Force attempted to stop a suspect vehicle near Bob Wallace Avenue and Patton Road. Huntsville Police say the driver, identified as 40-year-old Tyrone Benitez Garner, did not stop and instead fled, prompting a pursuit.

Authorities say the chase ended when the vehicle crashed near Interstate 565 and Memorial Parkway. Garner was taken into custody at the scene without further incident…
