HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Fire & Rescue honored its best Friday night, recognizing more than three dozen firefighters and medics for heroic rescues and celebrating 20 promotions during its annual awards and promotions ceremony.
Among those recognized were personnel who rescued young children and a 20-day-old infant during high-risk incidents where, officials say, seconds made the difference between life and death. All promotions were reviewed and approved by a committee before being finalized.
