One in custody following deadly shooting in Arab

The Arab Police Department says they are investigating a deadly shooting that happened on Feb. 17.

Police say they responded just before 2 p.m. on Feb. 17 to a home on the 600 block of Look Out Drive in Arab. Officers say when they got to the scene, they found a 76-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Marshall Medical North for treatment and later flown to Huntsville Hospital where he died from his injuries.

During the course of the investigation, police say 47-year-old Robert Gene Malin was arrested on unrelated charges but is now considered a person of interest in the case. Malin is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail…
