HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Hundreds of friends, family members and fans filled the Episcopal Church of the Nativity on Saturday to celebrate the life of blues musician and music educator Microwave Dave Gallagher, a man whose influence stretched from local stages to the classrooms of the Tennessee Valley.
The celebration of life brought together those who knew Gallagher as a performer, a teacher and a friend, with stories and live music painting the portrait of a man who lived entirely for his craft.
Among those in attendance was former bandmate Rick Jobe, who recalled his first encounter with Gallagher outside of his Fret Shop music store, a chance meeting that would spark a lasting friendship and musical partnership…
