Limestone County Water says dirty water possible due to new line activation

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Limestone County Water and Sewer Authority has shared a post explaining issues after residents reported brown water to News 19 on Monday.

News 19 received calls from viewers in Limestone County on Monday, saying they had brown water coming out of their pipes.

LCWSA said sediment may have been stirred up by flushing operations on distribution lines.

“LCWSA crews are currently undertaking flushing operations on water distribution lines in the East Limestone area due to the activation of a new line, which may stir up natural sediment,” the authority said on social media…
