HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Police Department has arrested a murder suspect in a shooting earlier this week at a Huntsville apartment complex.
Police said that Ahmad Khalil Barney, 20, was arrested on an active murder warrant for a shooting on Julia Street on Wednesday, where Nadiya Dayana Elise Perkins, 19, of Montgomery, was shot and killed.
Following a tip, officers arrested Barney at a home on Century Street around 2 p.m. without incident.
Officers received information on Friday morning that Barney was in the area of Jordan Road and Shields Road. HPD said that officers attempted to locate him with K-9 and drones after he ran into a wooded area…
