Strong to severe storms are possible multiple times this week, with the first round starting this afternoon and the next on Wednesday. Both days, the SPC has most of the Tennessee Valley under a slight 2/5 risk.
Some stronger thunderstorms are possible as we head into the afternoon today. Currently, the storms are passing through parts of Mississippi. The cluster of heavy rain and thunderstorms look to enter the Shoals around 3-4pm, the Huntsville metro by 5-6pm, and Sand Mountain around 7pm. Gusty winds and hail will be the main threats, with a low-end threat of a spin-up tornado. Isolated showers will be possible throughout the night, with lows in the low 60s.
