Guntersville councilman Jason Jones to resign, cites personal and professional reasons

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. — A Guntersville city councilman announced Monday he is resigning from his seat to accept a job that will require him to move outside his district.

Jason Jones, who represents District 4 on the Guntersville City Council, made the announcement on Facebook, saying a combination of personal and professional factors led to his decision.

“Despite my intent to remain on council for as long as District 4 wanted me to serve, a range of factors, both personal and professional in nature, have led to my decision to accept a career opportunity which requires me to move out of district,” Jones wrote…
