St. Patrick’s Day Parade to impact traffic in downtown Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department announced that the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Parade will impact traffic downtown.

On Saturday, March 14, the 49th annual Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade will wind through the city with festive floats, music, and plenty of Irish spirit.

Parade Route:

  • Begins at Woodson Street and Holmes Avenue
  • Travels north on Monroe Street
  • Turns south onto Jefferson Street
  • Continues east onto South Side Square
  • Turns south onto Washington Street
  • Travels east on Monroe Street
  • Turns north onto Meridian Street
  • Ends near Meridian Street and Cleveland Avenue

Road closures will begin at 10 a.m., and the parade will kick off at 11 a.m. Streets along the route are expected to reopen by 1 p.m…
