Madison woman arrested for smuggling “sprayed paper” into state prisons

MADISON, Ala. — A Madison woman was arrested on Wednesday for smuggling synthetic cannabinoid into state prisons.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Narcotics and K9 officers executed a residential search warrant at 121 Honor Way in Madison. The home belongs to Laquita Shanta Edwards, and the warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation into synthetic cannabinoid (sprayed paper) being introduced into the state’s correctional facilities.

During the search, officers seized 565.23 grams (1.246 pounds) of synthetic cannabinoid sprayed paper, envelopes, stamps, printer, printer paper and printer ink…
